Sunshine Plumbing & Home Services was founded by Matthew Scott Custer, a United States Navy veteran, Master Plumber, and lifelong problem-solver.

After serving in the U.S. Navy, Matthew transitioned into the plumbing industry and quickly discovered a passion for the trade — especially the technical and mathematical precision behind proper drainage and system design.

Before launching Sunshine Plumbing, he managed a successful plumbing company in California, then relocated to North Carolina in 2018 and worked with three major plumbing companies across the Piedmont Triad.

In February 2022, Matthew started Sunshine Plumbing in his own garage with one goal:

"Change the stigma of the plumbing trade by focusing on Honesty, Quality, and Integrity."

Today, he co-owns the company with his wife, Marilyn Custer, and leads a growing local team from their Greensboro location at:

Again, they delivered top tier service and got us all straightened out. We had a leaking pipe in our basement and while they were down there they fixed a couple of other things that had been done incorrectly by our home’s previous owner. I found their pricing to be reasonable and their techs are awesome. They really take a lot of time to explain what’s wrong and what things are a priority to fix vs things that can wait.
